Kris Wooles

Trust and Estate Consultant

Commencing his involvement in the legal profession in 1972, Kris was admitted as a lawyer in 1974, becoming a Partner at Roy Twyneham & Sons some three years later. When that company merged with T D Harman & Sons (now Harmans) in 1980, Kris remained a Partner, acting Managing Partner for 12 years before stepping into a consultancy role in 1997.

Kris has had a wide range of legal experience covering most aspects of law but in recent years has concentrated on Trust work and legal services for the elderly. He is a trustee for a significant number of trusts and estates.

Areas of Practice
Family Trusts and Elder Law.

Kris works in collaboration primarily with Amanda Crawford who is our Estates Manager.

Chef de Mission for the NZ Bridge International Team.
Chef de Mission of Canterbury Contract Bridge teams for annual interprovincial Championships
Selector of NZ Contract Bridge teams and non-playing captain for NZ Women at International level
Conduct Discipline and Disputes Committee for NZ Bridge – Chairperson
NZ Bridge Foundation – Trustee
Christchurch Community House – Honorary Solicitor

Interests
Traditional interest include Contract Bridge and Tennis. Kris has played Contract Bridge internationally for New Zealand which has involved considerable travel over many years.

He is also greatly interested in self knowledge through awareness and how reflective society is of the inner workings of our human minds.

Kris lives in Christchurch with his Partner Christine on a 10 acre hillside block covered in native forest and birdlife. He loves the natural environment and being surrounded by trees and being in a rural setting but still close to the city.
